Dr Parham has a long-term background and international profile in planning, urbanism and urban design for low carbon place making, with particular expertise in food and sustainable city design – and she is currently directing two food-centred ‘retrofitting’ research projects in the UK.
Since the early 1990s, she has produced significant original research and publications on sustainable, low carbon cities – and her book Market Place: How the Rise of Food Quarters in London is Transforming Spaces and Changing Lives, is due out in early 2013 while a second book The Convivial City: Food, Urbanism and a Sustainable Future will be published later the same year.
