The garden is an activity of the Brunswick Neighbourhood House and is run by a volunteer group of local residents. Opened in May 2016.
Communal gardening in raised beds and wicking beds. The garden is a place to meet your neighbours and have a chat. There are regular gardening sessions, composting, worm farms and workshops. Everyone is welcome.

CERES Community Garden
Located at corner of Stewart St & Roberts St, Brunswick East
There are about 50 community garden plots at CERES which are rented out yearly to those with limited household space for growing.

The community gardens has regular working bees and social BBQs. These are great opportunities for gardeners to mingle, share freshly grown produce, swap seeds and pitch in to help maintain the site.
Each gardener is required to adhere to the CERES "No Pesticides On-site" policy and soil fertility is enhanced by the addition of animal manure and compost from the stables.

The Dandelion Patch - Fawkner Community Garden
Located at 79 Jukes Rd, Fawkner
Since 2014 members of Sustainable Fawkner have been developing the eastern side of the Fawkner Community House, between the carport and the front fence, as a community garden.

Gowanbrae Community Garden
Located at 156a Gowanbrae Drive, Gowanbrae, down the hill from the Gowanbrae Community and Childrens' Centre. The Garden was launched in September 2019, and is run by a volunteer group of local residents including members of the Gowanbrae Residents Group with support from the Gowanbrae Childrens' Centre.

Located at 194 Donald St, Brunswick East
Allotment based community garden in Brunswick which opened in mid-2010.

The Merri Corner Community Garden was conceived in the middle of 2006 by a group of passionate East Brunswick locals.
The land is owned by the Moreland City Council and can’t be developed for residential purposes due to the environmental and inundation overlay. MCCG is encouraging all community members to be a part of it.
Large produce and herb plots, permaculture orchard, pizza oven, and chooks coming soon.
Communal gardening sessions are held Saturday mornings 10:30-12:30, socialise, share skills and learn something new.

PepperTree Place is a unique Community Greenspace located in the heart of Coburg on the corner of Sydney Rd and Bell St.

Pentridge is a new community garden within the grounds of the historic Pentridge Prison in Coburg.
The old prison site is being redeveloped for housing, community facilities: cinema, cafes, retail, artists studios. The developer, Shayher group understands that a community garden is a perfect addition to the precinct and has made a site available on the Corner of Murray Road and Stockade Avenue.
A group of local community members has come together to design, build and operate the garden. We plan to include space for fruit, vegetables, herbs, flowers, a community compost hub, some shade and some open space to enjoy.
Please join us and help develop our garden into a vibrant part of the Coburg community, where residents can meet, grow some food, plants and flowers, chat and enjoy some relaxing green space within the city.

Peppertree Place host the monthly IncrEdible Coburg Food Swap events on the first Saturday of every month from 10am-2pm. Our social enterprise business - Peppertree Place Garden & Nursery is open to the public from Tuesday - Friday 10am-4pm; Saturdays 11am-4pm.

FFB is a resident-led community garden and gathering space. FFB features shared raised beds, a food forest, and market garden rows. We want to be a cultivated productive garden as well as a hub for those growing produce at home to connect, share their skills and learn from others.

Luscombe St Community Garden
Located on a private site at 43 Luscombe St, Brunswick this garden caters for a wide range of abilities and has a number of membership-options.

The idea behind the garden is to share knowledge and to learn from each other. There is a mixture of individual and communal plots that are maintained through monthly working bees.
The people come together through their mutual love of growing. If you become a member, you will have the opportunity to meet and share with like-minded individuals, save money over the long term and you will have a positive environmental impact by turning waste into a resource. A committee run the garden and are dedicated to maintaining its future.

Constructed in March 2018, this garden is located in Robinson Reserve next door to Reynard Street Neighbourhood House.
The vegetable and herb plantings in our 6 raised beds are flourishing and we welcome community members to pick and enjoy this produce!
RSNH is currently coordinating involvement in the garden however we welcome community involvement and the creation of a community led committee in the future.
We currently have structured working bees on Fridays at 10:00 am run from the neighbourhood house, however community members are encouraged to interact with the garden whenever they like!

West Brunswick Community Garden and Food Forest
Located at Dunstan Reserve, West Brunswick.
Established more than 15 years ago and redeveloped after 2012, this sizeable community garden and public food forest provide personal plots as well as shared communal gardening opportunities and an amazing example of a community orchard on public open space.

CLOSED? DMA Ilma Lever Gardens
Located along the railway corridor near Moreland Station DMA Ilma Lever Gardens facility offers an accessible environment for people with disabilities.
One of the oldest gardens of its kind in Melbourne the space was developed by Disabled Motorists Australia on its premises in Station Street Coburg for people with disabilities who wanted to participate in gardening programs for recreation and future employment.
Enquiries welcome from anyone interested in participating, volunteering, becoming 'Friends of DMA Ilma Lever Gardens' or anyone with a disability looking for recreational gardening or training in horticulture.
